Dermott Arrests and Record Custody
Dermott Police Department handles law enforcement inside city limits. The Chicot County sheriff and state agencies can also make arrests or take custody of a person. By the 2020 Census count, Dermott holds about 2,021 residents. Small towns don't mean simple records, though. Chicot County posts no online roster, and Dermott itself puts out no daily bulletin, custody list, bookings feed, most-wanted page, or photo display. The arresting officer writes the incident report. Booking is a separate step, done by whatever office performs intake, and it can produce a booking number, charge entries, bond details, and a photograph. Dermott Police may hold the first record and not the second. Start there and ask where the person was taken. Then contact Sheriff Ronald Nichols's office or the facility the department names. Searches for someone already released often stall, but the historical booking record may still sit with its custodian, waiting to be requested.
Dermott Busted Mugshot Sources
Official offices lead because they can identify who made an arrest and where intake occurred. Secondary publishers come later. Their pages may omit events, use old state-prison material, or retain a photo after a custody change. Dermott has no verified official online photograph display, so “not found online” is not the same as “no booking record exists.”
| Channel | Photo status | Source type | What it can answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dermott Police Department | Available only by focused request if held | Official city source | Whether DPD made the arrest and where it transported the person |
| Chicot County sheriff | No online display verified | Official county source | County booking, transfer, or current placement when known |
| Arkansas VINE | No photo promised | Official state service | Reported custody status and event notifications |
| ADC inmate search | Profiles may contain photos | Official state-correction source | State system custody, not all recent Dermott arrests |
| Search ARCourts | No booking gallery | Official judiciary source | Filed cases, charges, events, and dispositions |
| South Ark Daily | Depends on the story | Secondary news source | Selected incidents, never a complete arrest list |
| Mugshots.com Chicot archive | Old images may appear | Unofficial commercial source | Historical discovery only, subject to staleness and mismatch |
The unofficial Mugshots.com Chicot archive includes Dermott links, but observed examples were old ADC-derived entries. RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Mugshots.zone, and Busted Newspaper had no verified Chicot local page when checked. Their absence cannot prove that no copied item exists elsewhere. It does mean there is no sound basis for inventing a Dermott URL or presenting those directories as local custody tools.
Note: A commercial archive shows what a publisher retained, not whether a person remains jailed or how the case ended.
Delta Regional Is State Custody
Delta Regional Unit is physically located in Dermott at 880 East Gaines. It is an Arkansas Department of Corrections state facility, not a public Dermott city jail roster. Historical federal findings documented a prior event in which Dermott officers obtained sheriff authorization for a county-reserved bed and ADC staff performed booking. That evidence establishes a past contract arrangement. It does not show that every present-day Dermott arrestee goes to Delta Regional.
The distinction affects every search. A new city arrest is not the same as a sentence to state prison. Someone may be held briefly, released, transferred, placed for another jurisdiction, or later committed to ADC after a court case. The official ADC facility list confirms the unit's state role. Its proximity should never be used to infer a conviction or a universal booking path.
Use the ADC inmate search when there is reason to believe a person is within the state correctional system. A profile can include a photograph and state record. County and facility labels must be read carefully: county can refer to the sentencing county, while facility refers to placement. ADC database labels such as a county waiting list do not create an online Chicot arrest log.
Requesting Dermott Police Records
The police department has no content-rich records portal. The Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police directory lists Chief Eric Evans at 112 North Freeman Street, Dermott, AR 71638, with telephone 870-538-5269. A state human-services directory corroborates that address and line. The official Dermott municipal directory identifies the police department but offers no arrest log or record form. No department email, set photo fee, office hours, or guaranteed completion time was published.
Call before sending the request. Provide the subject's full name, the arrest date or narrow date range, and the arresting agency. Ask separately for the incident or arrest report and any booking or intake photograph. Also request the booking number, booking time, alleged charges as entered, bond, release or transfer information, and the name of the facility that performed intake when those fields are maintained. If Dermott Police only holds the incident report, ask for a written or clear referral to the actual booking custodian.

Arkansas FOIA governs access to qualifying public records, subject to exemptions and redaction. Request an electronic copy in its existing form. Ask for an itemized cost estimate before processing because Chicot and Dermott publish no flat booking-photo price. A custodian may separate protected material from public portions rather than withholding a mixed record in full.
Finding Dermott Busted Bookings
A Dermott lookup works best as a custody trace, not a hunt for a nonexistent photo feed. The Chicot County records hub covers the county-wide no-roster path in depth. Keep the following city-specific sequence for a DPD event.
- Call Dermott Police at 870-538-5269. Ask whether DPD made the arrest, who transported the person, and which facility handled intake.
- Call the Chicot County sheriff at 870-265-8020 or the named holding office. Confirm current custody, release, transfer, and the custodian for the booking sheet and photo.
- Check VINELink for reported custody and available alerts. It is not a chronological bookings page and does not promise a photograph.
- Send a narrow record request to the correct city, county, or state office. Use dates and identifiers to prevent a same-name mismatch.
- Use Search ARCourts to locate the filed case and later disposition. Contact the Circuit Clerk if a careful search needs confirmation.
A dead end is not always final. Someone can walk free before you check. They might get moved to another jail, or land in the system under a slightly different name spelling. Fresh Dermott bookings also lag a bit. New arrests take time to appear in the data. Go back to whichever agency made the arrest and ask where that record sits now. Say so if you want an old booking rather than today's headcount. Clerks handle those requests differently, and a clear ask saves everyone a second round.
Dermott Arrest News Limits
South Ark Daily's Chicot archive is the one regional outlet that covers Dermott police news with any regularity. A March 8, 2025 theft and vandalism statement shows the pattern. DPD got the credit. The stories run only when an event gives the paper something to report. No daily booking gallery exists. No independent Dermott paper keeps a recurring arrest blotter either.
Treat a police statement as a lead. It is not the record itself. The statement names the event and the agency. Everything else lives elsewhere. The incident report sits with the department. Custody paperwork and the court docket do too, in separate hands. Be careful with images as well. A stock graphic, a scene photo, or an agency seal is not a mugshot. A caption can tell you which office holds the original.
The Chicot crime-news overview maps the path from a headline to an official record. South Ark Daily and the Pine Bluff Commercial work as secondary discovery tools only. Save the article date and the agency it cites. Then go straight to the arresting office, VINE, and Search ARCourts for the real answers.
Note: Dermott news coverage is event-driven and selective; it should never be described as a daily police blotter or custody list.
Dermott Busted Records After Release
Release shifts where the records sit. Someone who leaves custody drops out of VINE and any current-inmate response. The arrest report, intake record, and court case all survive in separate hands. Ask Dermott Police for its report. Ask the booking agency for the old intake record. Give them the full name, the likely date, the arresting agency, and any case or booking number you know.
A transfer means asking for the destination and the transfer date. A state sentence points you to the ADC offender profile. A filed local case belongs in Search ARCourts. The Chicot County Circuit Clerk holds the court files too. That office sits at 108 Main Street in Lake Village. Call 870-265-8010. Remember, the clerk handles court files. A police photo feed is someone else's job.
- Booking
- The intake process after arrest, separate from a later court judgment.
- Release
- The end of the reported hold, which does not erase the underlying record.
- Transfer
- A move to another agency or facility with a new custody context.
- Disposition
- The recorded outcome of the court case.
Verify Dermott Busted Case Outcomes
Search ARCourts picks up where intake data stops. Filings, charges, judgments, upcoming events, and dispositions all appear there when available. A charge entered at booking can be declined, amended, reduced, dismissed, or tried. An old photograph or headline is never the last word on how a case ended.
Match the person before you link sources. A shared name proves nothing. Compare the agency, the arrest and filing dates, a date of birth when you can lawfully get one, and the booking or case identifier. If the court portal leaves doubt, call the Chicot Circuit Clerk about the docket. The sheriff or booking facility answers custody and photo questions.
Sealing can close an eligible official record. Eligibility turns on the case and requires the proper court process. A private archive may stay stale after an official source updates. Take correction and removal requests to the office or publisher that controls the item.
